First, the material.
Then, the equipment.
Resin and cement suspension place different demands on the pump and flow path. A suitable system delivers your chosen material, lets you set the required pressure and connects securely to the packer.
A different material means different requirements.
Choose a material to see what determines the equipment you need.
A resin pump with accessories suited to your resin.
Selection depends on viscosity, the number of components and the material's working time. You then match the injection pressure and packer anchoring method to the application.
Delivering resin
Choose the pumping mechanism and controls. For multi-component materials, determine the metering and mixing method.
Free flow
Hose length and internal diameter should suit the resin viscosity and required delivery rate.
A leak-tight connection
The conical or flat-head coupler must match the nipple fitted to the packer.
Anchoring in the substrate
Select the diameter, length and seal to suit the borehole and the area the resin needs to reach.
The entire delivery path must allow particles through.
Suspension contains solid particles. Setting the right pressure is not enough: you need a suspension pump and accessories suited to the mix's particle size and consistency.
Delivering suspension
Select the pumping mechanism, valves and seals to suit the cement mix and its solid particles.
A passage for the mix
Account for particle size, consistency, hose length and how the hose will be flushed after use.
An unobstructed connection
The coupler and valve passages must allow the mix through. This matters more than the thread size alone.
Channel and outlet
Choose a packer for suspension: the particles must pass through its valve, channel and outlet.
PI-PUMP 4000 can be used with the PI-P 6,5/27 packer.
When injecting a suitable resin, you can set the pump to 30 bar and work with the PI-P 6,5/27 packer. A pump's maximum capability does not mean it always delivers at maximum pressure.
Adjust the delivery pressure to suit the packer and the injection task.
How do these components work together?
PI-PUMP 4000 delivers resin through a pressure hose and CPX-T coupler to the PI-P 6,5/27 packer. Select the hose and its end fittings to suit the pump, coupler and working pressure.
30 bar is this packer's maximum recommended pressure. If the application requires less pressure, use a lower setting.
Changing the pressure setting does not turn a resin system into a cement system.
You have PI-PUMP 4000 and resin packers, but want to inject cement suspension. The limitation is the pump's intended use and the design of its valves and passages. Increasing or reducing pressure will not make them suitable for a mix containing solids.
Select a suspension pump
Start with equipment designed to pump this type of mix. Consider particle size, consistency, required output and how the material is prepared.
Match the rest of the flow path
Check the hose, valve, coupler, nipple and packer channel in turn. The mix must pass through every component: a single narrow passage can restrict the entire system.
Tell us what you inject and what equipment you already have.
We need four specific pieces of information to select your system:
- Material: product name, number of components and, for suspension, particle size and consistency.
- Task: substrate, injection location, borehole diameter and required packer length.
- Working conditions: required pressure, delivery rate and hose length.
- Existing equipment: pump model, hose, coupler and packer. Photos of the fittings help us match the connections.
